Assignment
Our consultants have been commissioned to assist an airport CSP to develop a RFP for the delivery a a 4G private mobile network for 3 airports for a major metropolitan area in Europe (one in the top 3 and one in the top 15 busiest European airports). Scope: core, radio, VoLTE and Mission Critical Push-To-Talk (MC-PTT) to replace in particular the legacy DECT, TETRA and WiFi systems.
Achievements
1. PREPARATION
- Defined a highly resilient geo-redundant 4G network architecture for the airports.
- Analysed existing airport TETRA, DECT and WiFi traffic to produce a reference traffic model for dimensioning.
- Defined detailed technical, operational and security requirements (Core, Radio, VoLTE, MC-PPT, integration management).
- Wrote the 4G Private Mobile Network RFP document and collaterals.
2. MANAGEMENT
- Issued RFP.
- Evaluated technical and commercial responses.
- Initiated Q&As with vendors and produced summaries for client.
- Summarized outcomes of bid defenses.
3. OUTCOMES
- Produced offer summary and comparison tables.
- Presented recommandations to client based on TCO, attractiveness and realizability of offers.
